The Researcher Training Course is designed to foster individuals who are expected to engage in corporate and market research. More specifically, it nurtures professionals equipped with advanced analytical capabilities and insight such as university faculty members or research professionals in public research institutes and private think-tanks.
The Course consists of two programs, the Master’s and the Doctoral Programs provided in the weekday daytime at Kunitachi Campus. During the two-year master’s program, students obtain basic knowledge in their specialist areas taking a number of lecture subjects and write master’s theses to earn their master’s degree (Master of Commerce and Management). In the next three-year doctoral program, they determine their research topics by themselves, set a schedule to pursue their research, make presentations inside and outside the university, and receive guidance from their advisers, rather than just taking lecture subjects. Through the process, students write doctoral dissertations to finally obtain their doctoral degree (PhD in Commerce and Management). Most of students earning doctoral degree in our course become university faculty members. Our course has produced numerous outstanding research professionals specialized in commerce, accounting, and management.
In addition to the above programs, we have started the Innovation Management Program from 2019 academic year, the Doctoral Program offered on weekday evenings and weekends in Chiyoda Campus. The Program is targeted mainly for middle-aged business people with the background of science and technology such as engineers to become managers and professionals equipped with advanced specialist expertise in corporations. Students, while working in corporations, acquire broad knowledge in business administration and write doctoral dissertations to eventually obtain doctoral degree (PhD in Business Administration) during the three-year program.
