It is possible to take courses not subject to enrollment restrictions. It is also possible to take advanced undergraduate courses (mainly courses for third and fourth year students). However, please note that even if you take courses offered by our other graduate schools, and by our advanced undergraduate courses, - - - except for credits earned by secondary seminars - - - the credits earned can not be included in the course requirements to complete the MBA Courses (Management Analysis Program, Business Administration Program, Hospitality Management Program, and Innovation Management Program (Doctoral Program) .
Intensive Japanese language classes are available to international students in the Researcher Training Course and MBA Course (Management Analysis Program).

Since AY2018, we have launched “Hospitality Management Program”, offering programs to develop human resources to become business leaders in the field of tourism and hospitality industry.

Basically, classes take place on weekday evening. Some special classes also take place on Saturday. Please note that you can not fulfill course requirements by taking only Saturday, daytime courses. So, please get ready to take both 1st and 2nd period of classes held on weekday evening.
In SBA, admission is in April of each academic year only. There is no September admission.
In Kunitachi Campus, classes are held on weekdays (Monday to Friday) only. Five class periods per day (8:45-10:30, 10:45-12:30, 13:15-15:00, 15:15-17:00, and 17:10-18:55).
In Chiyoda Campus, classes are held on weekday evening. Two class periods per day (18:20 - 20:05, 20:15 - 22:00). Classes also take place on Saturday (around 9:00 - around 17:00).
Since AY2018, we have offered “Business Administration Program” and “Hospitality Management Program” held on weekday evenings and on Saturday.

Concerning the School of Business Administration (SBA), admission exams are held in multiple rounds divided into from A to F categories. You are not permitted to apply to exams fallen into the same category. You can simultaneously apply to exams fallen into the different categories. In the meantime, for the MBA Course “Management Analysis Program” offered at Kunitachi campus, we conduct “Special Selection Process” for company-or organization-sponsored candidates.
Yes, there is. Students in senior year are selected through internal screening process to be admitted to the MBA course “Management Analysis Program”. Also, concerning this “Management Analysis Program”, a “five-year consecutive education program” is also available to students in junior and senior years, in which they can obtain a Master’s degree just a year after they have completed undergraduate programs.

In the case of the Researcher Training Course and Management Analysis Program (MBA Course), there is a space for this on the application form, and a qualification examination, although not mandatory, is one of the factors considered. However, the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test Level 1 (N1) certification is required for international students who wish to enroll in the ALL Program.

Japanese-Language Proficiency Test Level 1 (N1) certification is not required for international students except those who wish to enroll in the Researcher Training Course and Management Analysis Program (MBA Course). However, as most classes and tests are given in Japanese, students are strongly encouraged to have adequate Japanese language skills at the time of enrollment.

In regards to the MBA Program entrance examination for international students, the length of the applicant’s stay in Japan should not exceed four years as of the first day of the application period. The selection process will be based on the application documents and the results of an oral examination.
For the PhD Program entrance examination for international students, the length of the applicant’s stay in Japan should not exceed four years as of the first day of the application period. In addition, the number of exam questions is less than the general entrance examination.

The Academic Advisor Remarks and Recommendation Form are used for reference when making admission decisions, but applicants will not be rejected simply because of not submitting them.
Documents that satisfy all of the conditions below are considered valid Academic Advisor Remarks and Recommendation Forms.
- Filled-in official form provided by Hitotsubashi University or an application on a separate sheet with all the items listed on the official form (a memo of “see attached” should be written on the official form).
- Signed and stamped with the applicant’s seal (if the applicant is Japanese)
- The envelope in which the application documents are enclosed is tightly sealed.
- Documents are either typed or hand written.
- Any types of envelop is acceptable.
Most programs accept domestic applications only. If you wish to apply from abroad, please send your application through someone who lives in Japan on your behalf. (In such cases, examination admission cards will be sent to the person in Japan.)

No revision of application documents after submission is permitted.
The School of Business Administration Administration Office will contact you by telephone, e-mail or other means and request submission of the missing documents. If you cannot be contacted and/or are unable to prepare the documents during the application period, you will not be permitted to take the entrance examination.
Normally the only contact made with applicants is the sending of an examination admission card to those whose applications have been formally accepted. If a message is included with the examination admission card, please follow the instructions in the message.

Before the deadline for the submission of admission documents, please prepare two student ID photographs (4 cm high by 3 cm wide), and an original copy of your certificate of residence. In case your proxy is engaged in enrollment procedures on your behalf, please make arrangements to get the necessary documents reached the School of Business Administration Administration Office before the deadline. It is acceptable for your proxy to complete and submit the documents on your behalf.
Please be aware that at the time of a health examination you will take after admitted, you are supposed to submit your vaccination record. So, please have it ready by that time. (If you are a company-sponsored student, you do not necessarily have to take the health examination; you can be exempted just by submitting a copy of your health certificate.
